police

A shot was fired through the door of a house in Londonderry in a paramilitary style incident, police have said.

It happened at 2130 BST on Friday when five masked men wearing camouflage-style clothing tried to force their way into a house in the Carnhill area.

When they were unable to get in through the kitchen door one fired a shotgun through a glass panel in the back-door.

Two men were in the house at the time, but, they were uninjured.

Police have appealed for information.
