A teenage girl, believed to be a victim of human traffickers, has been rescued during a police operation in north Belfast.

Two men were arrested in the Organised Crime Branch operation against cannabis cultivation, money-laundering and identity card offences.

The men, aged 33 and 35, were arrested on Friday during a house search in the city.

The move was part of a wider operation launched in September last year.

It has resulted in the closure of a number of cannabis factories and seizure of cannabis with an estimated street value of £2.2m.

The girl rescued on Friday was in her mid-teens and is presently receiving support from specialist agencies.

Police also recovered suspected false identification documents and several thousand pounds.
