Justice statue

A district judge has said that a man charged with removing flags from a lamppost should be commended.

Judge Eamonn King made his remarks at Limavady Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

Ciaron Melough, who is 19 and from Whitethorn Drive in Londonderry, was charged with provocative behaviour.

He removed a flag from the village of Burnfoot last July. The case was adjourned until 7 April.
