DJ Dougie Marshall wins Sunday World libel payout

A Northern Ireland radio disc jockey has been awarded undisclosed damages and legal costs over false newspaper allegations about his personal life.

Downtown Radio presenter Dougie Marshall sued over a Sunday World article which claimed a sports car was set alight outside his Belfast home.

The paper accepted its article may have implied Mr Marshall had been unfaithful or deceitful and, or, dishonest.

An apology was also issued to the broadcaster as part of the settlement.
