Man questioned over woman's death in Newcastle

The woman's body was found at a house in Kenway Drive

A man is being questioned about the death of a woman in County Down.

The body of the woman, who is understood to have been aged in her 50s, was found at her home in Kenway Drive, Newcastle, on Tuesday night.

The police have said they are treating the death as suspicious and that a post mortem examination is to be carried out on Thursday.

It is understood the woman had lived in the Newcastle area for many years and was sharing the house with her son.

A police cordon remains around the woman's house.
