police patrol

A 33-year-old man has been shot in the legs by masked gunmen in a paramilitary style attack in Belfast, the police have said.

It happened shortly before 2130 GMT on Tuesday when two men entered a house in Rossnareen Park in west Belfast.

The injured man has been taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

It is not yet clear who attacked the man, however dissident republicans have been responsible for a series of similar attacks over the past year.
