Motorists have been warned of widespread icy conditions on Northern Ireland roads.

The police have urged drivers to take care and reduce speed.

The Roads Service said main routes had been salted late on Christmas Day and gritting was under way again.

Meanwhile, the Boxing Day meeting at Down Royal racecourse has been called off due to the weather. Organisers hope to hold the races on Sunday.
