A 58-year-old man had a lucky escape after he was caught up in a fire that gutted a mobile home in County Antrim.

Station Commander Gary Davidson said the man was lucky to be alive following the blaze at Feystown Road, Glenarm, which involved six gas cylinders.

Fire crews from Larne and Carnlough were called to the scene at 1930 BST on Saturday evening.

The man suffered burns to his hands and face, but managed to get outside where specialist firefighters treated him.

"The mobile home is totally gutted. Nothing is left but the base frame and two wheels. It gives you some idea of how intense the fire was," Commander Davidson said.

"He was very lucky to escape."

It's understood that the fire began accidentally.
