Rodent dropping were found in the bakery

A bakery near Limavady has been closed on health grounds following a rodent infestation.

Health officers from Limavady Council found a dead mouse in a container of treacle when they inspected the Old Polish Bakery in Greysteel on Tuesday.

Another two dead mice were found under a freezer.

It is the fourth time the bakery has been closed in the last 12 months because of a risk to human health.

The closure followed a court application by the council.

The council's solicitor told Londonderry Magistrates Court there was also widespread evidence of rodent droppings in the building.
