A look at the changing face of Cornmarket from 1976 to the present day.

A two and a half storey tall sculpture has been officially unveiled in Belfast City Centre.

The Spirit of Belfast in Cornmarket replaces the old bandstand and forms the centrepiece of a major project to transform the streets.

The art piece is designed to show how Northern Ireland's history and future is woven together as delicately as linen and as strongly as steel.

The sculpture was unveiled by the Social Development Minister, Margaret Ritchie MLA
