A coffee-jar bomb has been found inside a car in Newtownabbey, the police have said.

It was found in Rosstulla Drive, Jordanstown at about 1630 BST, and has been removed for examination by an Army bomb disposal team.

A pipe-bomb was also found in north Belfast after a day-long security alert.

Two controlled explosions were carried out on the device, found in Waterloo Park off the Antrim Road.

It has also been removed for further examination and police remain at the scene.
