City centre death not suspicious

Police tape at Adelaide Street
The area was cordoned off for a time while police examined the scene

Police are no longer treating the death of a man in his 50s in Belfast city centre as suspicious.

The man's body was discovered shortly after midnight on Saturday in Adelaide Street.

A police spokesman said that following a post mortem examination, his death was not believed to be suspicious.

He said a report would be prepared for the Coroner's Office. Police had appealed for information and the street was cordoned off for a time.
