Community pair 'warned of threat'

Police
Sinn Fein said police told the men about the threat

Two community workers in Lurgan have received death threats from dissident republicans, according to Sinn Fein.

Councillor Johnny McGibbon said the pair, who live on the Kilwilkie estate, had been informed of the threats by the police.

"There's been a spate of recent trouble and ongoing vandalism in the area, organised by criminals masquerading as republicans," he said.

A police spokesperson said they did not comment on the security of individuals.
