TUV councillor Tosh quits party

Jim Allister said he regretted Charlie Tosh's decision to leave

The TUV has lost its first councillor following an internal disagreement.

Castlereagh councillor Charlie Tosh, was one of the first to quit the DUP for Jim Allister's party after the DUP entered government with Sinn Fein.

Mr Tosh told the News Letter he left over a dispute about setting up a TUV association in South Belfast and said the TUV was "ran like a dictatorship".

Mr Allister said that his party was "very open" and that he regretted Mr Tosh's decision to leave.

Mr Tosh has asked the council to change his designation to independent.
