A woman charged in connection with the largest ever heroin seizure in Northern Ireland has been refused bail at the High Court in Belfast.

Sarah Greene, 24, of Eaton Green, in the Rathcoole area of Dublin, was one of three people held in connection with a raid in Londonderry last weekend.

Police seized 8kg of heroin with a street value of £500,000 and more than 200,000 Ecstacy tablets worth £1m.

The court heard she was a "trusted member of a drug smuggling gang".

Denying bail, Lord Justice Girvan said there was "clear evidence" Ms Greene, who denies possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, was involved in drugs trafficking.

Sean Doherty, 41, from Cornshell Fields in Derry, and Anthony Morgan, 27, also of Eaton Green. were arrested along with Ms Green.

Both were remanded in custody at earlier hearings.
