Man charged over City Hall attack

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an attack on a man in Belfast city centre.

The victim, 27, was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital following the assault outside the front entrance to the City Hall at 2115 BST on Friday.

He is described as being in a stable condition.

A police spokesman said the 22-year-old is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday.
