'Assault' and arrests at festival

Oxegen Festival stage
There have been 47 arrests at the Oxegen festival in County Kildare

An alleged assault on a man at the Oxegen music festival in the Irish Republic is being investigated by gardai.

The incident happened at around midnight in a car park outside the venue in Naas, County Kildare.

The man who was injured is in a stable condition in hospital.

On Saturday alone, about 70,000 people attended the festival. There have been 47 arrests at the event since it began on Friday.
