Orange hall 'attacked with paint'

Orangemen
The Orange Order said one of their halls was attacked with paint

The Orange Order has said one of its halls in Belfast has been attacked.

The Order said bottles containing paint were thrown at the hall in Carlisle Circus for the third time this week on Thursday night.

Orange Order spokesman William Humphrey said he had already met the police about increasing security in the area.

Mr Humphrey said he would be seeking another meeting later on Friday to discuss the matter. Police said they had no record of Thursday's attack.

SDLP North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness condemned the incident.

"We are attempting to normalise society, and part of that normalisation is respect for institutions from both sides of the community," he said.
