260-mile charity walk to begin

Bank notes
The group hopes to raise £100,000 for the charities

A 260-mile walk across Ireland to raise money for cancer charities gets under way later.

Eighteen walkers will do the equivalent of 10 marathons in 10 days - from Cork to Carrickmore.

They are hoping to raise £100,000 for Marie Curie, MacMillan and County Tyrone cancer charity Termonmaguirc.

A group of young people did the same walk 23 years ago to raise money for a respite centre and three of them are now doing it again.
