A 19-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Polish man in Newry.

Marek Muszynski, who was 40 and from Sandy's Street in the city, was found dead in a laneway at Upper Edward Street at about 0035 BST on Tuesday.

Two men arrested on Tuesday are still being questioned. An 18-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

It is believed Mr Muszynski was attacked as he walked along a pathway.

His body was found in an alley behind Newry's swimming pool.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area of Upper Edward Street, Monaghan Street or Railway Avenue on Monday night.
