Man, 89, dies following car crash

An 89-year-old man has died in hospital two weeks after being struck by a car in east Belfast.

The man was in a wheelchair which was hit on the Newtownards Road shortly before 1800 BST on Saturday 20 June.

He suffered leg and head injuries and died in hospital on 4 July.

Sixty-one people have died on Northern Ireland's roads so far this year. Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
