Detectives in Coleraine are trying to establish how a man received head injuries which left him critically ill in hospital.

The man, who is in his 50s, was found in the Killowen area of the town at about 0500 BST on Friday.

Appealing for information, police said he may have been in the Strand Road area earlier.
