Dog thieves fumble Chihuahua pup

Dog thieves who took animals worth about £5,000 dropped one of the animals as they fled, the police have said.

Five dogs were taken from a yard containing kennels on Finvoy Road in Ballymoney overnight on Friday.

A two-year-old black Pug dog valued at, £1,000, a Chihuahua valued at £800 and four Chihuahua puppies also valued at £800 each.

They dropped one of the pups, which was spotted by a passing motorist and re-united with its owner.

Police have appealed for information about the theft of the dogs between 2130 BST on Friday and 0630 BST on Saturday.
