Durkan leaves committee post

Mark Durkan has reshuffled his Stormont team

The SDLP leader Mark Durkan has said he will stand down as chair of Stormont's Enterprise, Trade and Investment Committee.

Mr Durkan, who is also MP for the Foyle constituency, said the move is part of his party's policy aimed at ending so-called double jobbing.

He'll be be replaced by North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness.

In a further SDLP reshuffle Dolores Kelly is to chair the Environment committee, replacing Patsy McGlone.

Margaret Ritchie retains her post as Social Development Minister.

On Monday DUP leader Peter Robinson reshuffled his party's ministerial team and is expected to reshuffle committee chairmanships before the end of this week.
