Roads closed over railway alert

Passengers on the Enterprise service were transferred by bus

A security alert on the railway line between Newry and Dundalk is continuing, police have said.

Cross-border train services have been disrupted and the A1 Dublin Road and M1 south of Newry is closed. Traffic is being diverted.

A suspicious object was discovered on the line on Thursday afternoon.

Rail passengers are being transferred by bus between Newry and Dundalk. Motorists should be aware of possible delays.
