Lightning storms cut off electricity to more than 12,000 homes and businesses at the weekend.

Northern Ireland Electricity said emergency crews were working from Saturday afternoon until Sunday night, dealing with more than 70 faults.

Rural areas around Coleraine, Ballymena, Larne, Craigavon and Dungannon were worst affected.

An NIE spokesperson said the majority of customers had their power restored within several hours.
