Film star's Collins outfit for sale

The lot includes a long green military coat with brass buttons, leather belt and gun holsters

The long green military coat worn by film star Liam Neeson in his role as Irish republican legend Michael Collins is to go under the hammer on Tuesday.

The actor from County Antrim wore the coat with leather belt and gun holsters in the 1996 award winning film, Michael Collins.

The lot, to be auctioned in London, includes trousers, a tunic and boots.

Most of the items bear the actor's name and the date of filming. The estimated sale price starts as low as £350.

Costumes worn by Irish actor Pierce Brosnan in his James Bond films are also for sale at Bonham's Knightsbridge auction.

Bond's leather jacket, as worn by Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies is expected to fetch between £4,000 and £6,000.

Christopher Lee's long black Dracula cape is expected to sell for up to £30,000 and Omar Sharif's cloak from Lawrence of Arabia is estimated at about £6,000.

An outfit worn by Halle Berry from Die Another Day is on at £800 to £1,200.

Costumes from Dr Who and The Chronicles of Narnia also figure.

All the costumes going under the hammer belong to the international costume house, Angels.
