Security alert in Portadown
A security alert, near Drumcree College in Portadown, is causing disruption in the town.

A suspicious object was found shortly after 1000 GMT on Monday.

Traffic has been diverted away from the area.

Meanwhile another alert, on the main Londonderry to Coleraine road, has ended.

Army bomb experts carried out a number of controlled explosions on a stolen car at Maydown.

Nothing was found.


Couple robbed

A woman and her husband have been bound and robbed in their home in Ballymoney, County Antrim.

Three masked and armed men forced their way into their home in the Pharis Road area of the town shortly after 2200 GMT on Saturday night.

They tied up the woman, who was at home alone. Her husband, who owns a local petrol station, arrived home soon after with a member of staff.

He was assaulted and both were tied up. The men made off with a sum of money.


Police investigate robberies

The police are investigating two robberies in Finaghy in South Belfast and in the County Down town of Warrenpoint on Saturday.

Two men, one with a handgun, robbery at a chemist shop at Finaghy Crossroads and escaped with a sum of money and a quantity of drugs.

In Warrenpoint two members of staff at the Credit Union were held up at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon.

Two men got away with a bag of cash and cheques.


Young man dies in crash

A 19-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in County Londonderry.

Christopher Liam Moore, from Peter's Road in Dungiven died a crash near his home at about 0300 GMT on Saturday.

He was travelling alone in a Vauxhall Nova car which left the road and hit a tree on the Ballyquin Road, Dungiven.

No other vehicles were involved.
