People living in nine houses in Lurgan, County Armagh, have returned to their homes after a bomb alert was declared a hoax.

The alarm was raised after a suspicious object was discovered at a petrol station at Antrim Road at about 0400 GMT on Sunday.

The army was called to the scene. Trains between Moira and Portadown were cancelled but the service has resumed.

Traffic diversions at the Kilmore Road and the Antrim Road are also over.
