Family of four is robbed in house

police patrol

A family, including two children aged under five, have been robbed by an armed gang in their County Antrim home.

Three masked men, armed with a shotgun and pistol, entered the house in Flowbog Road in Dundrod near Crumlin just before 1500 GMT on Monday.

They forced the couple to sit on the floor while three flat-screen TVs and cash were taken. No-one was injured.

The robbers made their escape in the family's blue VW Passat car and a Nissan Micra car they had arrived in.

The Nissan was found at Cherry Park in Twinbrook shortly before 1600 GMT. It had been set alight.

Police said initial inquiries suggested this car was stolen from a female driver at Donnybrook Street at its junction with Lisburn Road shortly before 1950 GMT on Sunday.

The keys to the car were grabbed from a woman in her 30s when she was parked outside a supermarket.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
