Police end search for missing man

The police search in the Mourne Mountains has ended

A search in the Mourne Mountains for a French tourist who was reported missing has ended.

Police say they no longer believe the man is missing in the mountains in County Down and are investigating the circumstances of the alert.

Earlier on Monday, the coastguard had sent a number of helicopters to the area.

The Fire and Rescue Service had used thermal imaging equipment as part of the rescue operation.
