Man arrested after bottles thrown

Police

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Downpatrick, County Down after trouble in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Around 60 people were in Church Street when disturbances broke out at around 0045 GMT.

Bottles were thrown at police by a group of people and one man was arrested.

He was released pending a police report to the Public Prosecution Service. The police have appealed for witnesses to the trouble to contact them.
