Man's body recovered from river

Divers searched for two days

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Lagan close to Belfast city centre.

Divers from the emergency services discovered the body near Lagan Weir at about 1400 GMT on Tuesday.

The body was recovered after a two-day search. The search focussed on a section of the river close to the Queen's Bridge.

The operation began following reports that a man was seen entering the water at about 0300 GMT on Monday.
