A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the shooting dead of a 50-year-old man in Dublin on Sunday night.

Aidan O'Kane, a father-of-one, was shot in the stomach in the East Wall area after he chased some teenagers from outside his home.

It is believed he ran after the youths after eggs were thrown at his home.

Four people are still being questioned about the killing. Another two have been released without charge.
