Pipe bomb found in housing estate

A pipe bomb has been taken away by the Army after being discovered in a west Belfast housing estate.

A security alert at Lenadoon Avenue started on Monday evening after a suspicious object was found.

The Army was called and examined the object and declared it a "viable device". The device was made safe and removed for further examination.

The alert ended at about 0230 GMT on Tuesday.
