A stained glass window was smashed by vandals

Vandals have smashed a stained glass memorial window in a church in County Down.

The window was broken and several doors were also smashed in the attack at Groomsport Church of Ireland parish church on Sunday evening.

Minister Duncan Pollock said people were "horrified" at what had happened.

"People are horrified that such a pretty little holy place as our church could be so desecrated," Mr Pollock said.

He added that it was "for nothing" as the vandals did not take anything.
