Man admits mother-of-one murder

A man has admitted murdering a mother of one during his trial at Belfast Crown Court.

Kristoff Alauya had been charged with murdering and raping 38-year-old Grace Moore two years ago.

Her body was discovered by her teenage daughter at their home in Erris Grove hours after she had met Alauya at a nightclub in Belfast two years ago.

Alauya, a Nigerian national who had been living in County Carlow, is now being tried for raping the victim.

He denies this charge.

On Tuesday Alauya admitted stealing from Ms Moore.

During Wednesday's proceedings Alauya responded with a guilty plea after the murder charge was read to him.

After he changed his plea, the judge told the court he would order them to return a 'guilty by way of confession' verdict on both the murder and the theft charges.
