Police officer's back

A pipe bomb has been found in south Belfast.

It was discovered at commercial premises on Apollo Road, off the Boucher Road, at around 1300 GMT on Tuesday.

A police spokeswoman said no controlled explosion was carried out on the "viable device", but that it was taken away for forensic examination.

The area surrounding the security alert was cordoned off for a time, but has since reopened.
