Police

Two men have been assaulted as they carried out a traffic survey in east Belfast.

The men were in Garnerville Road at about 0245 GMT on Thursday when three men, one with a saw, attacked them.

One man was thrown to the ground and threatened. He suffered cuts and bruising.

The attackers escaped with the keys of a hire car and a small amount of cash. Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
