Alleyway
The alleyway where the body was found is forensically examined

The body of a father-of-two has been found in Larne, County Antrim.

The victim has been named locally as Kenneth Nicholl. His body was found in an alleyway between Herbert Avenue and Waterloo Road on Saturday night.

Police are treating the man's death as suspicious. It is understood he was aged in his late 20s.

The area where the body was found has been cordoned off as forensic investigations continue. People living in the area believe he was stabbed.

However, police have not said how the man died.

William Stewart who knew him, said: "Any time ever I have met the fellow, he was very nice and a very friendly sort of a chap... I got on very well with him and a lot of other people did too.

"Nobody likes this to happen in their own home town."
