The dispute at Movilla High School lasted three weeks

The strike at Movilla High school in Newtownards has been suspended.

The Labour Relations Agency has said teachers and pupils at the school would return to class on Monday after the three-week stoppage.

Teachers had walked out after a dispute over an alleged assault on a teacher by a pupil.

The agreement was signed shortly before 1800 GMT, after negotiations between the NASUWT union and the South Eastern Education and Library Board.

These centred on how the union would provide information to an independent assessor appointed to assess the needs of the pupil at the centre of the dispute.
