Motorcyclist dies in road crash

A 21-year-old motorcyclist has died in a road accident in County Down.

The accident occurred on the Newry by-pass near the Chancellor's Road junction at about 2200 BST on Friday.

It is not yet known if any other vehicle was involved in the crash, and police said they wanted to speak to anyone who witnessed the accident.

The man was the 14th motorcyclist to die on Northern Ireland's roads since the beginning of the year.

The road was closed for a time in both directions but has since reopened.
