Northern Ireland Water is facing a multi-million pound shortfall in its finances.

The problem is due, in part, to errors in billing for business customers.

William Duddy, director of customer services for the company, confirmed that thousands of businesses were wrongly charged.

He said about 5,800 customers had been overcharged by about £1m and 3,000 undercharged by approximately half a million pounds.
