The flight had to divert to Keflavick

A transatlantic flight from Belfast to the United States had to be diverted after an elderly passenger became ill, carrier Continental Airlines has said.

Flight CO95 to Newark Liberty International had to land at Keflavik, the main airport on Iceland.

The elderly woman developed a low pulse and two doctors who were on the flight gave her oxygen until the 757 landed.

Two other passengers who became disruptive were also removed by the Icelandic police, the airline said.

On arrival the elderly woman was taken to hospital. The flight later left Iceland for the US.
