'Viable device' made safe in city

Army technical officers have made safe a "viable device" in south Belfast.

The device, which has been removed for further forensic examination, was found in the back garden of a house in Malone Park Central on Monday.

The security alert has been declared over and residents, who were evacuated from their homes earlier, have been allowed to return.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 0845 6008000.
