A private investigator is to face trial for getting unauthorised information from a police database.

Anthony Griffiths, 57, of Dundonald Heights, was charged after a police officer was suspected of passing on personal details without permission.

Details on vehicle ownerships, job history and previous convictions are alleged to have been obtained.

A prosecution lawyer said there was a "prima facie case" against Anthony Griffiths. He was released on bail.
