Platform collapse delaying trains

Translink has warned of delays for Larne-bound passengers

Part of the platform at Whitehead Railway Station in County Antrim has collapsed, public transport company Translink has said.

The firm said the Larne-bound platform would remain closed and trains would operate from the Belfast-bound platform. Larne trains face delays.

A spokesperson said that the collapse of a section followed recent construction work in the area.

They said that no-one was injured in the incident.

An emergency timetable will be in operation from Monday. Trains to Belfast will operate as normal, but Larne-bound trains from Whitehead will be delayed by up to 10 minutes.

The company apologised for any inconvenience to passengers.
