Detectives investigating the murder of a baby boy are questioning the child's father.

Fourteen-week-old Cameron Leslie from the New Mossley estate in Newtownabbey died after being admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

The baby boy's father Ryan Leslie, who is 24, has been arrested in connection with the death.

The child was initially taken to Antrim Area Hospital with a number of injuries on Thursday.

He was then transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast, where he died on Saturday.

A top floor flat in New Mossley has been sealed off by police for forensic examination.

The baby's 18-year-old mother is being comforted by relatives.

Rev Ian McDonald, of New Mossley Presbyterian Church, said: "I think there is a real sense in which people are just concerned about the folk involved.

"It is one of the natures of life here - there is a closeness, sometimes the community's hard, but at a time like this there is real support and help for and we've seen that in a number of ways and I don't think it's any different here.

"People are shocked. Certainly as a church we believe that it's important to be there for everyone concerned."
