A man in Londonderry has indecently exposed himself to a woman.

The incident happened at about 1330 BST on Wednesday as the woman walked along the Coshquin Road.

A man, driving a white Transit-type van drove alongside her, opened the door, indecently exposed himself and performed a lewd act.

The man is described as being in his 50s and of large build. The van was said to be in a poor condition. Police have appealed for information.

The van crawled along for a short distance then moved off when a jogger appeared from the opposite direction.

It stopped in a lay-by and the man got out. When he saw the woman take out a mobile phone, he got back into the van and drove off towards the border.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who can help identify the driver, in particular the jogger and the driver of a taxi that passed while the van was in the lay-by.

The number to call with any information is 0845 600 8000, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
