Two face kidnap, hijack charges

Two men have appeared in court in Northern Ireland charged with kidnapping and hijacking.

The charges relate to an incident in the Castleblayney area of County Monaghan on Monday night.

Daniel Barry McGonnell, 19, from County Monaghan, and John Christopher Crowe, 40, from County Louth, appeared in Newry Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

They were remanded in custody. A 38-year-old woman was released and a file is to be sent to the DPP.
